Former Brazilian soap opera actress Adriana Ferreyr sued billionaire George Soros after he promised her a $1.9 million Manhattan apartment and then gave it to his new girlfriend.
A FORMER Brazilian soap opera actress suing billionaire philanthropist George Soros for $50 million over an alleged promise to buy her a $1.9 Manhattan apartment has no case, his lawyer argued Tuesday.
Adriana Ferreyr, 31, who dated the financier for five years, is trying to “cash in on their casual relationship,” William Zabel wrote in his motion to dismiss.
Her lawyer, Robert Hantman, countered that she is a woman of independent means and would have purchased the place herself had he not undercut her and bought it first.
Ferreyr says that she had her heart set on a place at 30 E. 85th St.
She claims in her suit that while they were lying in bed together on Aug. 11, 2010, Soros told her he had bought the place and intended to give it to his new gal pal.
Ferreyr said that the two argued and he smacked her in the face and then threw a lamp at her, causing her to cut her foot.
An NYPD domestic violence report filed with court papers states that cops were called to the billionaire’s Fifth Ave. pad on Aug. 11, 2010, around 2:30 a.m., but Ferreyr never pressed charges and Soros was not arrested.
“The allegations of any physical violence by George Soros are absolutely not true,” said his lawyer William Zable.
Ferreyr moved into another apartment in the building and she claims Soros had her followed in a campaign of harassment.
Soros’s lawyer counters that the billionaire had to hire security when she moved in because she was threatening his new gal pal.
